My daughter Cameron is a huge fan of accessorizing, but she loves designing and creating jewelry almost more than wearing it! Needless to say, we’re always brainstorming new projects for her to stretch her creativity. When I spotted the smooth, bright colors of OOLY’s Neon Chalkables Liquid Chalk Markers, I immediately thought they’d be an awesome way to add a pop to some wooden beads we already had. I added in a few other supplies and she turned out some amazing necklaces!
To make these bright beauties, you’ll need:
To start, we spent some time coloring our wooden beads in different chalk colors, creating patterns and adding in detail with the metallic markers on a few. I think the necklaces turned out the best when we mixed in solid color beads with patterned, so try to color a wide variety. The chalk markers dry really quickly, so you’ll be ready to string the necklaces in no time.
Cut your desired length of nylon cording and tie on a jump ring. String on the colored wooden beads and gold pony beads. Then tie on the clasp to the other end.
I think the hardest part is going to be deciding which one to wear. If you can’t pick just one, try laying like Cam!
