Are you ready to celebrate the summer season? We are too! That is why, we are going to show you how to make not one but two, easy paper crafts for kids that are both colorful and fun to make. First, let’s start with a DIY pinwheel, made from your favorite OOLY supplies.
Easy Paper Crafts for Kids: DIY Pinwheel
Materials Needed:
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- A straw
- A ruler
- A tack
- Rainbow Sparkle Glitter Glue
- Ink Works Markers
- Smooth Stix Watercolor Gel Crayons
Step 1: First let’s make a square. With your scissors, cut the shape of a square out of your construction paper.
Step 2: With a ruler and an Ink Works Marker draw a neat line from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Next you will want to repeat this step by drawing a line from the top right corner to the bottom left corner.
Step 3: With your scissors cut partway across both lines. Stop cutting when you are halfway from the center. (You don’t want to cut the entire line, or the pinwheel will fall apart).
Step 4: Bring each of the four corners to the center. You will do this by bringing the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Then repeat this step by bringing the top right corner to the bottom left corner.
Step 5: Next you will stick a pushpin through the center holding the pinwheel together.
Step 6: Now it is time to attach your pinwheel to the straw. To do this stick your tack through the inside of your pinwheel and into the straw.
Step 7: Finally, decorate your pinwheel. For this step, we recommend decorating your pinwheel to match your fun style and personality. However, if you are curious, we used, Rainbow Sparkle Glitter Glue and Smooth Stix Watercolor Gel Crayons to create ours.
