Family Crafting: Holiday Coloring Page Puzzle Mashup!

One thing we love doing during this time of year is spending quality time with our family creating holiday crafts together. These holiday coloring puzzles are a great way to involve everyone in your house, regardless of age or artistic ability. It’s a fun holiday DIY craft that gives every single participant the power to create on their own terms with one super fun result! I was inspired to try this with my family after doing it with my students!

Time Duration: 1 hour

Skill Level: Beginner

OOLY Products Needed

Other Items Needed:

  • Poster Board
  • Scissors
  • Sharpie

Directions:

Gingerbread house outline on white paper with arts and crafts supplies on a table

Step 1: Begin by drawing a picture in permanent marker on the poster board. We let the children decide and they decided on a gingerbread house!

Step 2: Cut your paper into as many pieces as you have people participating. We cut ours into four pieces.

Step 3: Now for the fun part! Each person/group chooses what OOLY supplies to use to begin decorating their portion of the “puzzle.”

Step 4: After each person was done coloring, we pieced the puzzle back together and it created a beautiful creation! You can definitely tell which part was done by the youngest, but that’s the best part!

I hope you and your family enjoy taking some easy holiday drawings, and then coloring them to create an original work of art together. It truly is a holiday craft that is perfect for all ages!
